BioH2o is a pioneering, women-owned aquaponics farm based in Monastir, Tunisia — cultivating leafy greens, strawberries, and tilapia in harmony with nature.

Built on 4,500 m² of land and powered entirely by solar energy, our farm reimagines agriculture through innovation, sustainability, and self-sufficiency. By combining natural ecological cycles with smart technology, we produce clean, nutrient-rich food using minimal water and no soil or synthetic pesticides.

At BioH2o, both our leafy greens and tilapia are raised the natural way—without genetic modification. It’s a promise rooted in our respect for clean food, healthy ecosystems, and Mediterranean farming traditions.

What exactly is a GMO? Genetically Modified Organisms are altered in laboratories to withstand harsh conditions or chemicals. Today, over 80% of food products on grocery shelves include GMO-derived ingredients.

But at BioH2o, we do things differently.
Our fish and plants grow in harmony—within a closed-loop aquaponic system that mimics nature. With nutrient-rich water, clean energy, and precisely balanced conditions, there’s no need for genetic shortcuts or synthetic inputs.

Tilapia Tacos with Strawberry Salsa

A sweet-savory fusion inspired by coastal street food

Ingredients:

  • 1 BioH2o tilapia fillet

  • Flour tortillas

  • 1 cup diced BioH2o strawberries

  • 1/4 red onion, chopped

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • Cilantro, olive oil, salt

Instructions:

  1. Grill tilapia with olive oil, salt & pepper.

  2. Mix strawberries, onion, lime juice & cilantro into salsa.

  3. Flake fish onto warm tortillas, top with strawberry salsa.

Strawberry & Rose Water Mousse

A dreamy, floral dessert that feels like a Mediterranean summer

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup BioH2o strawberries

  • 1 tbsp rose water

  • 2 tbsp honey or sugar

  • 1 cup whipping cream (cold)

Instructions:

  1. Puree strawberries with rose water and sweetener.

  2. Whip cream until soft peaks form.

  3. Gently fold puree into whipped cream.

  4. Chill for 2–4 hours. Garnish with Strawberry on top.

Grilled Tilapia with Chermoula Sauce

A Tunisian classic with a citrus-herb punch

Ingredients:

  • 1 BioH2o tilapia fillet

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 bunch parsley + 1/2 bunch cilantro

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt & pepper

Instructions:

  1. Blend herbs, garlic, spices, lemon juice & oil into a sauce.

  2. Marinate tilapia in chermoula for 30 min.

  3. Grill 3–4 min per side. Serve with couscous or greens.
